Roo Hitch Height

Guess it's my turn to post a question :)
I bought an 09 Roo last month and were towing it with a Dakota. Last weekend, we were up near my parents (over an hour a way) for a night with my brother and 2 kids for a night camping, we ar back at the sam CG next weekend so we left the trailer at my parents. This week, we found a Tahoe pretty cheap and decided to get it cause it's a much better TV than our dakota was. Problem is, the WDH is set up for the dakota and I need to know what the height to the top of the ball should be so I can get it set up before next weekend. I can't find information on this anywhere!
Can anybody please help?
Thanks in advance.

RE: ROO Outside stove

I put ours in one of those Rubbermaid storage bins. Keeps the mess in something easily hosed out. We even fit a second BBQ and a 2 burner camping stove in there too!
As for the stove, Rockwood has those too. One came with our Rockwood PUP and it hooked exactly like the BBQ our Roo came with. Maybe look into buying one new or used?

RE: Battery questions for dry camping for 4 days.

When we're dry camping, we just break a couple of glow sticks for the night. Put off enough light you can see where you're going, but not enough to keep everybody awake, and it saves battery power!

RE: Buying gas in Canada

I would imagine you could as I've used mine in the US when I was down there.

RE: Wives!! Let your husbands accept Help ;)

That could make you grumpy for the rest of the day. DW and I always work as a team. She always gets out to watch our tail and direct me into the best spot. She helps with the setup as well.
This is how we do it, works every time :)

RE: Patio Mat Storage

We roll ours up and tie it to the back bumper with a couple of bungee cords.

RE: Dakota and Jayco 19H

I towed our brand new Roo 19(weighed in at about 4100lbs as we left for our trip) up probably one of the longest climbs around a couple of weeks ago with my 02 Dakota 3.7 V6. Made up up the Great Bear Snowshed (close to 10% grades for a couple of miles) without too much issue, little slow going, but other than that, it was fine.

I orderd mine from FlushKing directly. Haven't gotten it yet, but it has only been a week and a half.

RE: Quebec traffic light question

i thought flashing green light means advanced go. You can turn left, right, or go straight where the opposite traffic is still a red. And when it turns to solid green, it means both sides is allowed to go.
What I don't understand is why are some traffic lights in Quebec City horizontal instead of the traditional vertical design.
I wondered the same thing when I was in Calgary a few years ago until a major wind blew up and the lights didn't move like the would of if they had been the traditional hanging vertical design.

RE: CG near Vancouver

We are staying at Golden Ears Provincial Park next month, which is outside Maple Ridge. Here is the link to BC Provincial Parks:
Discover Camping
You can search by where you want to go OR by when you want to go...
Beautiful park out there, but it's over an hour to downtown from there! :E

RE: Whislter BC

There are plenty of beginner runs on the mountain, don't try and scare them off! As for time, anytime in July or Aug is a good time to be up there. Weather is almost always nice and warm, usually mid 80's or hotter in the summer. There are also 3 championship golf courses aroudn too. I'd suggest Chateau or Whistler. Nicholas North is nice, but less enjoyable than the others.
Like Bob said, there is major construction on the highway going up there right now in preparation of 2010, so depending on when you're traveling, plan a bit of extra time.
Most of all, enjoy BC :)

RE: RV resorts/camping in BC...best times??

Well said PaulJ
Just a couple of things:
Squamish is a good stop too, rock climbing, cross-country mountain biking, wind surfing, white water rafting, golf, hiking, it's all there. Check out the adventure center and you drive into town.
Second, the drive from Whistler to Lillooet(Duffy Lake Road) is a definate must if you are driving through BC. The road is a bit tight and hilly, but absolutely breath taking, and there are a couple of first come first served Provencial Campsites along the way. No hookups, but if for stopping for the night, I highly recommend this drive. I used to do it twice a month (each way) travelling from school in Kamloops to my parent's home in Squamish.

This is a great thread guys, lots of information you wouldn't think about until you break something. We are picking up our first HTT on Thurs, moving from a pup. Keep the good suggestions coming :)

RE: While You're All Camping . . .

It's not a holiday up here in the great white north, so will probably be at home doing house stuff and anticipating the arrival of our 2009 Roo 19 next Thursday :)
